my first dance.

i look around and see a lot of the world is stationary. everyone is so busy doing the hustle and bustle that they cant even see what is going on around them. people have stopped growing. there is a lot of life i dont know about. a lot i will never be able to comprehend. a lot i care not to know about. i like the simple life altho not so simple. i see these people standing still through their daily life. we have become a society obsessed with the material world. the money world. the consumption world. how many things can we idolize? we have god, buddah, muhammad, money, plastic, american, oil, land, and anything else we can put our name on to claim as our own. i have a question, when and who said we were allowed to do this? who said it was important to do this? at what point in history was one man inferior to another? can anyone tell me this? no because none of us were around at that point in history, so why is it important for us to know it? because it changed the course of history forever. it is the reason you and i exist today. should we be thankful for this? thats a hard question to answer. we are here and by default given a chance to change history as it has been changed for us. what got us where we are happened so long ago they could have never seen the outcome. new question. what will things be like 100 years from now? how about 200 or even 300 years from now? that is a scary question to think about especially in the times we live in today. the world seems to be in a perfect balance of chaos teetering on the pinnacle of human beings and doings. where will the world be left when you no longer exist? what will you leave behind? if you have children then you have the chance of leaving behind great great grandchildren. what do you want them to know of you? you could be someone that stood up to your fellow man and said stop the hate, the violence, the lies, the greed, the torment and the terror. i bleed just like you and i will die just like you. in the end we are all the same no matter race, religion, bank account, social standing, or number of views on myspace. Or on the other hand you could continue your path of voluntary blindness. you can slave away for the machine and accept that your life serves no purpose for the greater good. the world could keep this current trend of beautiful chaos or it could collapse and swallow all the good things that we know. there was once a time when morals of man stood for something. i no longer see this. honor and dignity were once more valuable than the almighty dollar, or euro. our future generations, i fear, will know nothing of this. they will not understand that man was once something to be proud of. they wont see that we upheld something that wasnt tangible. their minds wont expand beyond that which can be held. we could potentially destroy the "idea". have you ever had an idea? when was the last time you had an idea? with this world of instant gratification you no longer need that many ideas. life is handed to you via convenience. you only have to work hard enough to afford what you want. you no longer have to strive for greatness because it has no value. is that how you want to live? its scary to think where that will move things. i say dont settle for what you can hold in your hands but fight as hard as you can to gain every idea and free thought you can conjure up. never stop thinking and strive to improve and simplify your life. think about what you do on a daily basis and how it will effect the future. be that great person that saved the world...
